Make a splash!
The Bowhill Upper Loch has a diverse and thriving ecosystem. Using simple techniques, you can find and identify what lives below the surface of the Loch, also learning how each creature plays a crucial role in Bowhill’s natural environment.
Have a go at catching a sample of the aquatic lifeforms from the Loch, then look at the minute details of each creature. Our Ranger, Andy, will help you classify and identify your discoveries. You may find Dragonfly Larvae, Newts or even a Water Scorpion!

What will you discover?
Led by our knowledgeable Ranger, this relaxed outdoor session is packed with nature-based fun. You’ll explore the woodlands and wild spaces of Bowhill, stopping along the way to look for bugs, spot birds, and learn about the animals and plants that thrive here.
It’s a gentle walk with plenty of chances to get hands-on, ask questions, and enjoy the fresh air.

Create your perfect hideout!
Scotland’s famously unpredictable weather calls for a sturdy, well-thought-out den. They also make for a great adventure and family activity… but can you all fit inside?
Use natural indicators to pick a good location, then learn how to build a frame and use foraged materials to keep you warm and dry.

Happy Birthday to you!
Make their birthday one to remember with a magical celebration at Bowhill. Little ones can run wild with soft play fun, settle in for a private movie screening, or enjoy games and laughter in the Courtyard Gallery.
With plenty of space to play and explore, and the beauty of the Estate all around, it’s the perfect place for a wild birthday party this summer.

Swing, slide and climb!
Kids can whizz along zip wires, slide from towering platforms, and take charge of the brand new wooden fort. With rope bridges to cross, swings to master, and musical instruments to try, there’s plenty to keep little adventurers busy.
All set against the beautiful backdrop of Bowhill, it’s the perfect spot for fresh air, fun and a chance to discover the wonders of nature.
