Halloween Happenings
This autumn, young visitors are in for a spooktacular adventure at Bowhill! Wicked witches have been spotted drifting through the Grounds, and we need brave youngsters to help banish them once and for all.
Families can follow a treacherous Halloween trail, enjoy fun games along the way, and pick a pumpkin from the patch to complete the mission.
And for those who dare to say “boo!” in the dark, we’re introducing an exciting new Halloween night-time experience on the 31st of October – the perfect way to add an extra thrill to your autumn adventure.

Enjoy an Autumn Stroll
There’s nothing quite like the crunch of leaves beneath your feet as you explore the Scottish Borders in autumn.
With a variety of way-marked walks through the Grounds, and longer trails that stretch across the wider estate, it’s the perfect season to lace up your walking boots and wander.
The woodlands are alive with seasonal surprises, especially the fascinating fungi that dot the forest floor. Our Ranger has highlighted some key mushrooms to look out for, here.

Stay in the Grounds
To truly embrace the beauty of the season, why not enjoy a short break or holiday within the Grounds of Bowhill?
Our two self-catering apartments make the perfect autumn base – whether you’re keen to explore the Scottish Borders or simply curl up and soak in the golden autumnal scenery.

Want to Visit?
Although Bowhill House, Adventure Playground, Café, and facilities close after August, you can still enjoy the beauty of the Grounds year-round.
With an Annual Pass, you’ll have access to explore the woodland trails and soak up the seasonal scenery at your own pace.
It’s great value too – if you’re planning to visit several times over the coming months, or would like discounts on our seasonal events, autumn is the perfect time to purchase your pass.
