Let the kids push through the iconic Black Gates, originally created in the 18th century for the family seat at our sister-property, Dalkeith Palace. Or, can the kids find the Ice House? A building which pre-dates the main House, it was used for freezing perishable foods, chilling drinks and even for medicinal purposes.

Of course, no visit to Bowhill would be complete without a stop at the Adventure Playground. Our thrilling play area offers a range of equipment that challenges and entertains children of all ages. From climbing frames and swings to zip lines and slides, the playground is the ultimate hub of activity for kids at Bowhill.

Plus, the Old Horsebox located within the playground serves up light snacks and drinks, perfect for adults to enjoy a nice cuppa whilst the children play.
