The Victorian Kitchen

The Victorian Kitchen

Once the beating heart of Bowhill House, the Victorian Kitchen will be open for you to explore at our May Fayre Event. Originally built around 1812 and in use for over a century, the kitchen was sadly lost to fire in the 1930s.

Thanks to the vision of the 9th Duchess of Buccleuch, it was lovingly restored in the 1970s – bringing this historic space back to life. Wander through and imagine the hustle and bustle of grand estate life, as you take a fascinating step into Bowhill’s past.
