During the week of the Borders Book Festival, Duke Richard hosted a series of events and this year wanted to thank the fantastic staff of the NHS.

Families enjoyed lawn games on the terraces, delicious ice cream from S.Luca served from a spectacular 1923 Rolls Royce, and a performance by the NHS choir, Health and Harmony, who opened with an incredible cover of ELO’s Mr Blue Sky.

A short Ranger activity was also offered, taking guests on a mini tour of the Grounds. Highlights included pond dipping, a mini bug hunt in the long grasses, and a peaceful moment spent listening to the surrounding bird song. The birds were plentiful and varied, with a Song Thrush showcasing its impressive repertoire of different sounds.
