What can I say about our Ranger Tots, other than it has been an absolutely wonderful experience for myself and everyone who came along. As I wrote in my last Ranger Diaries, this was a first for both Bowhill and myself. Children and parents alike, got stuck into a range of activities and were eager for another block…. and another, with more people signing up to for each block.

Little Adventures, Big Smiles
Each week had a different focus, but themes ran throughout to connect the tots and parents to nature and the beautifully diverse Bowhill Estate. From mud faces to creating mythical beasties and from dens to birds’ nests, it was amazing to watch the smiles grow, even when we were all covered in mud and covered in various bits of foliage. Still my favourite, was being Cheeky Robins for a morning, chasing each other around to protect our stash of food from being stolen by other Cheeky Robins!
Making Friends
One of the main and unforeseen highlights, has been to watch as a new community of friends has blossomed. After the Ranger Activity, the chats over a coffee whilst the tots enjoyed the Soft play, have become a weekly staple for many of the parents and a great opportunity to network with other mums and dads. You also cannot deny how cute it is when the tots make new friends too!

More to Come
I have been sad to see Ranger Tots finish for our summer season, but I am excited for its return later in the year. In the meantime, it’s not long to go before our July Family Ranger Activities, so there is still some fun activities to look forward to!
