Autumn at Bowhill

There is nothing quite like Autumn to showcase the diversity in tree species at Bowhill. Alongside mixed species planting over the last few centuries, sustainable woodland management also creates a varied age structure adding so much depth to the colour and landscape. From Beech, Birch and Oak to the Larch of Pernassie Hill, Autumn provides a warmth through colour that the creeping cold air cannot quite compete with. Although we are now out of our core season, many are still making the most of the now Annual Pass and enjoying a quiet stroll around the grounds.

What’s been going on at Bowhill this Autumn?

It’s been such a busy time, this is only part one! Look forward to part two coming soon.

Coming up in December will be Part Two ….. The Scottish Countryside Ranger Service, SRUC visits, heritage education at Bowhill and of course Christmas Wreaths (there are still a few places left if you haven’t booked)
